Gavin GOH
2013 Singapore National Champion at Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championship

Debater, scholar, global citizen: these are but a few words to describe one of our youngest coaches, Gavin. An experienced debater with over seven years of experience, Gavin was the 2013 National Champion of the Singapore Secondary Schools Debating Championship where he also clinched Best Speaker of the Grand Finals. He later secured 1st Runner-Up at the Ministry of Education-Anglo Chinese Junior College Intercollegiate Debating Champion 2014 and National University of Singapore Political Association’s Policy Debate Series 2015.  In addition to his debating career, Gavin has clinched numerous Best Delegate awards, including at Raffles Model United Nations 2013, and Singapore Chinese Girls’ School Model United Nations 2012 and 2013. He has since gone on to take on the appointments of Vice-Chair at the inaugural Yale-NUS Model ASEAN 2014, and Head Chair of the Middle East Summit 2014.

Gavin was most recently awarded the prestigious Public Service Commission Scholarship with the Singapore Legal Service to read Law at Oxford University. As such, he has deferred his full-time National Service obligation to pursue his legal education. Prior to enlisting, Gavin interned at TSMP Law Corporation and the Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME), where he engaged in research compilation and legal advocacy for migrant workers as well as human trafficking victims in Singapore.
