Do students need a visa to attend summer camp in Japan?

You are required to apply for an short-term stay visa to Japan if you are holding a passport from a visa-required country. You will need to apply for a visa at the Japanese Embassy/Consulate with the jurisdiction. All foreign nationals/people who reside in the following countries/region and are required to obtain a short-term visa on visiting Japan are eligible to apply for a visa online from March 27, 2023. Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, U.S.A.

What is the current situation of COVID-19 in Japan?

On April 29, 2023, Japan has lifted most of its coronavirus border controls, including a requirement that entrants show proof of three vaccinations or a pre-departure negative test within 72 hours of departure. After May 9, COVID-19 testing of entrants with symptoms will be voluntary.

Japan will also drop a special measure subjecting visitors from mainland China to random testing upon arrival. Japan's government also dropped its requests for mask wearing in March, leaving it up to each person's discretion. Mask wearing is only recommended now in crowded trains, hospitals and other public spaces, and near elderly and other vulnerable people.

What is the plan to handle risks when participating in a summer camp in Japan?

The Global Citizen strictly follows the Risk Assessment Management System of the Singapore Ministry of Education in planning and organizing any activities during the Japan Summer Camp 2024. Code of Conduct and Risk Management Guidelines and safety will be provided to faculty/instructors, staff and participating students.

In the event that a student is unable to participate in one or more program activities due to personal reasons, will the student get a refund for that activity?

In case students are unable to participate in program activities due to personal reasons, TGC will have to arrange personnel to manage to ensure the safety of students. In addition, costs for program activities have been paid to providers prior to summer camp, so no refunds will be given to students.
